Muse CC 2018 is a web design program, as is Adobe Dreamweaver. Adobe Muse on the other hand can be purchased as part of their CC (Creative Cloud) subscription starting at $14 AUD ($10 US) (£7 GBP) per month.Free Download Adobe Muse CC 2018 for Windows PC it is a software solution that allows graphic designers to create unique, standards-based websites without the need to write code. Price wise the basic Xara Web Designer, package, is $72 AUD ($51 US) (£35 GBP) rising to $448 AUD ($315 US) (£220 GBP) for the full Xara Designer Pro software based on a one off purchase. If you love structure and grids then Adobe Muse is the one for you, if you like a more unrestricted design process the Xara product will not disappoint. There's also the added bonus that prototyping a website is made that much easier too, so if you need to put something together very quickly it's possible with both these products. The selection of 'widgets' for both packages, to enable you to expand your websites capabilities, are widely available and cover things such as forms, maps, video and alike.

What I love about both is that as a graphic designer I can translate my designs easily into a website or web presentation. The software handles the code seamlessly and when you publish your site you are presented with something that works well. Both the Xara & Adobe products offer on-line editing as well, so websites, once created and published, can be updated in a web browser, albeit at present on a restricted function set. It's flagship product 'Xara Designer Professional' not only has the 'Premium' version of the Web Designer product but, a full illustration and design software too. Out of the two, I would say that the Xara Web Designer product has the edge for this, but for Adobe product users 'Muse' is equally intuitive to learn.īoth software packages offer similar functionality and design experiences, with the Xara product offering 3 versions from which you can choose your level of expertise and overall functionality. Both employ 'drag and drop' and 'WYSIWYG' functionality so it's pretty intuitive to start designing good looking and functional sites once you know the basics. So, what makes either package worthy of a mention, well in a nutshell, ease of use. If you're a graphic designer and want to create the odd website, or even want to add web design to your portfolio then either package will help you do this.

Both software packages offer designers the ability to simply create websites without using CSS or code, but use 'widgets', 'place holders' and 'effects' to make a website more functional & exciting. For those looking to create websites without 'coding' or using one of the many on-line product such as Wix, then there are, in my opinion, two main contenders, Xara Web Designer and Adobe Muse.
